Virtual Tour of St. Helens Masonic Lodge No. 32

During the depression of the 1930s, an out-of-work artist (not a Mason) agreed to decorate the interior of our Lodge Room.  In exchange, he was given a place to stay and was allowed to show his work to potential employers.  If we find his name, we will revise the page to include it.  We do not know who designed the work he did.

The North and South walls of the Lodge Room each have four mural paintings, which are the highlight of the work.  Each painting is on canvas that adheres to the wall.   Unfortunately, should we ever move from our current location, chances are we will not be able to take the paintings down from the wall without destroying them.  Should anyone viewing this have an interest in art, contact the web master for further details.

All the photos on this page are "thumbnails."  There are two photos of each mural.  The first of each pair shows the painting itself.  The second shows the painting and the decorative border around it.   Click on any of the thumbnails to see a full size image (they are ~2.2" wide and average 18k, so they don't take too long to load).  To return to this page after viewing, simply click the "Back" button on your browser.  Please note that all photos are copyrighted by St. Helens Masonic Lodge No. 32.  Permission from the webmaster is required to download or reuse these photos.

The Waterfall (Note that we had some water damage on this painting.   A Brother who was an outstanding artist attempted to restore it. While he did do a remarkable job, the waterfall does not match the tone of the other seven paintings):
