Lion Sharon Elder was the first woman to join the 50 year
old club, Portland Roseway Lions. She was in that club for 9
years before becoming a member of the Portland Cascade
Lions. Lion Sharon has held many offices and received a
multitude of awards at Club, District and Multiple District
Levels. She has been club President for three years and has
held every office, with the exception of Secretary, multiple
times. She has been awarded Lion of the Year twice and
received the A1 Everist Community Service Award. At the
District level she has been the public relations chair (3
years), chair for the International Understanding (1 year)
and received the Presidential Certificate of Appreciation
twice as well as the OLSHF Appreciation Award. On the
multiple District level, Lion Sharon has been the Public
Relations chair (5 years) and Mexico Vision and Health
Clinic chair (8 years). She has received the LCI Leadership
Award (Jimmy M. Ross 2006-07) and the Best Multiple District
Newsletter Award. Lion Sharon has been a ReTree
International Board Member since 2003.
Lion Sharon has two grown children, Hilary and Ian. She
is Grandmother to two sets of twins. She has always had a
love for selling and is currently self-employed working full
time importing textiles and hard goods from India, and Asian
ports, to retailers throughout the US.
