That's the Way it Grows

Spring has Sprung!

Wow, it is amazing how Spring just pops up after a long, dull winter.  How lovely the new green grass is, how yellow the daffodils, and how fragrant the daphne and hyacinths.

A quick mow around the yard and a little time spent pulling weeds, and suddenly your yard transforms.  The bulbs you forgot about push up and explode in to brilliant color and fragrance.  The perennials that looked dead last week are suddenly covered in fresh green leaves.  The buds on your trees are now fat and ready to burst.

I am especially pleased with the little yellow narcissi I planted in the lawn last fall.  I've been waiting for these little cuties all winter.  It took me a while to locate them when they started growing, because I didn't mark where I had planted.  Now they are adorable little sunny yellow clumps surrounded by green grass that remind me of the clusters of daffodils you see growing along the road or in fields.

Spring is always exciting for me, because it's full of possibilities.  I can plant a whole new vegetable garden, try new perennials, dig up, move or excavate for anything I might want to have on my little "farm."  After being cooped up for the winter having to be content with fiddling with my orchids, I look forward to getting in the dirt and planting.  I can almost taste the first tomato. . .
