| Mission: to protect Oregon's abused and
neglected children and to provide them with safe and permanent families.
Services:
Child Protective Services: When
the agency receives a report of child abuse or neglect, the agency will
assess the family situation to determine whether abuse has occurred and
if the child is at risk of further abuse.
Supportive Services: If abuse or
neglect has occurred, the agency will designed a service plan to include
services to strengthen the family and insure safety for the children.
Services could include parenting classes, family treatment, and respite
care.
Foster Care: If a child cannot
stay safely in their own home, SFC will remove the child, looking first
to relatives for a temporary placement. If a relative placement is
not available, the child will be placed with foster parents in a family
setting until the child can return home.
Adoptions: If a child cannot be
returned home, SCF will try to find an adoptive home for the child.
SCF also offers adoption financial assistance in special needs adoptions
to keep children in a permanent home.
Residential Treatments: If a child
cannot live in a family setting because of their behavior, needs or risk
to the community, or SCF contracts with private agencies to provide special
programs in a secure setting. |
