Northwest Oregon
Housing Authority (NOHA) provides HUD rental subsidy.
Since funds are
limited, there is a waiting list for rental assistance.
Pre application
forms are required to be submitted
NOHA does NOT provide
emergency housing funds.
Voucher Program:
Applications must be filled out to determine
eligibility for the program. Income limits apply and subsidy amount is
dependant on income and family size. NOHA subsidizes tenant rent based
on Payment Standards for household size. Tenant is responsible for rent
in excess of Payment Standard. Families choose where they want to
live. Vouchers are transferable anywhere in the United States. Units are
inspected periodically to assure decent, safe and sanitary housing.
Mod Rehab Program:
A separate application form must be filled
out to determine eligibility. Rental subsidy stays with the rental unit.
Tenant pays 30% of monthly income toward rent. Tenant may not take the
subsidy with them upon moving.
Family Self Sufficiency
Program (FSS):
Available to all tenants leased under
NOHA’s jurisdiction. Established by HUD, FSS families work with a case
manager towards economic self sufficiency. The FSS Program offers a financial
incentive by the establishment of an escrow account. Interim escrow
withdrawals can be made prior to successful completion of the FSS
Program.
