Establish a Structured Community Planning and Decision-Making Process

We maintain and facilitate an ongoing process that brings all community members together to make plans and decisions about children family issues.  Through community planning processes we identify local community and family strengths, formal and informal community supports, and private and public sector services and resources.  We also identify local problems, needs and priorities.  We facilitate bringing research and best practices information to the table to enable a community to design programs and services that work, and which are best suited to local needs and problems.  This results in a comprehensive plan.  We encourage all stakeholders to participate in this comprehensive planning process, and to identify elements of the plan that their organizations can support and help implement.

Creates and Encourage Collaborative Partnerships

We are convener and catalyst to bring states and local systems together to form new linkages, partnerships, and collaboration's.  We create opportunities for individuals, community organizations, schools, businesses, governments and service providers to form new relationships to share goals, resources and responsibilities for improved outcomes for children and families.  We help develop and support these new collaborative relationships and partnerships among all stakeholders.  We support organizational and community development training and education to further facilitate community collaboration.

Create A Wellness System

We implement our comprehensive plan by using a limited budget as matching or start-up funds for local projects or initiatives that will start moving our community towards wellness.  We use our funds to leverage financial and other resources, or as incentives to collaborate.  We seek to develop new funding sources or resources.  We do that in part by facilitating the coordination, partnering and collaboration of public and private local, states and federal organizations to reduce duplication and redundancy in the system and thereby increased system capacity and efficiency.

Be Accountable for What We Do

We ensure that what we do has the desired outcome, and that those efforts and outcomes are measurable.  We do that inpart by linking our goals and objectives to research, by maintaining proper internal controls, by proper monitoring and evaluation of our contractors, and by reporting results to the state and public.
