"The purpose of this organization shall be to advance the educational interests of the community; to carry out the function of the Oregon Education Association (OEA), to elevate the standards of instruction; to establish and maintain conditions essential to the best teaching service; to secure for the school personnel any advantages that will result from cooperation with other educational agencies; and to create a deeper sense and knowledge of the importance of public education and its relation to the general welfare."
